Whether you are considering a visit, becoming a member of the congregation or are a member in need, we reach out with several ministries and growth opportunities.
Joining First Church
The Member Growth & Care Team coordinates the New Member Class for people interested in becoming members of First Church. Join us to learn more about United Methodism and our church community. For information about the next New Member Class, contact Gail Upson (email@example.com) or Tracy Meehan (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Our Caring Ministries provide love and support to church members during difficult times as well as times of celebration.
Sunshine Card Ministry – Cards are signed by church members and mailed to those experiencing suffering, loss, or joy.
Grief Ministry – A booklet series, “Journeying Through Grief,” is sent at intervals throughout the first year following the death of a loved one.
HUGS (Hearts United Giving Service) – This ministry matches volunteers with members who cannot attend church and includes monthly home visits, delivery of flowers at Christmas and Easter, and homebound communion.
BeFriender Ministry – BeFriender volunteers are trained to offer a one-on-one listening presence to others during stressful times in their lives.
