First Church Library

The Library is open on Sunday mornings.

Please peruse the shelves and check out materials.

The Library serves to:

  • increase knowledge of the Bible
  • answer spiritual questions and needs
  • develop an understanding and appreciation of the history of Christianity and other religions
  • address individual and family concerns
  • furnish adults and youth with wholesome reading materials
  • find excellent books for children.

Located in Room 101 on the lower level, the library is open Sunday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to Noon during the normal Church School year.  However, items may be checked out at any time.

Checking Out Books. To check out an item, write your name and the current date on the circulation card and place it in the basket on the long table. Another basket is marked for returns. While there are no actual due dates, reminders will be sent after three months.

Donations. Donations of appropriate items, either new or gently used, are welcome. A  donor bookplate will be affixed to the inside cover and will indicate if the book was given in memory or honor of a special person. Suggestions for future purchases are appreciated.

Events. The Library Committee hosts various events during the year such as an open house, usually coinciding with National Library Week. Church members are encouraged to feed their stomachs, minds, and souls by munching on food while perusing the library shelves.

Book Discussions.  The Library also hosts several book discussions during the year.  All are invited to attend.
