Committed to providing outreach and support to the community-at- large, First Church participates in a number of mission projects both within the church itself and throughout DuPage County.
A primary mission is the Clothing Center which is housed on the lower level of our building. The Center relies strictly on donations of goods and clothing from the community and welcomes all volunteers. Clothing Center guests receive a free breakfast on the third Saturday of each month from October through April. This Breakfast Ministry is coordinated by the First Church Youth Group.
Also “housed” at First Church is the Heaven and Earth Community Garden. As part of a consortium with other Elmhurst faith communities, we share the stewardship of this vegetable garden from June through October to provide fresh produce for the Yorkfield Food Pantry.
