Worship is where we come for nurture and from whence we return to the world to share the light of Christ. The heart of our church is in Sunday Worship in which Music is an essential element.
Worship Services
Sunday Worship Service is at 10:30 a.m. throughout the school year. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, the Summer Sunday Worship Service is at 9:30 a.m. until school resumes (corresponding with the Elmhurst Community School District schedule.) Worship is always followed by a time of Fellowship.
Worship Style
Our worship services are designed to create an environment that brings the Word of God and the teachings of Christ into the hearts and minds of the congregation through drama, art, dance, music, and personal experience. We celebrate time honored traditions and create new ones with beauty and pageantry.
Sacraments
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is offered on the first Sunday of every month. Our table is open to ALL — whatever your religious background. In the United Methodist tradition, children of all ages are encouraged to participate in Holy Communion. All of us can experience God’s grace and love at Christ’s table.
The Sacrament of Holy Baptism can be scheduled following a discussion with the Pastor. If you are interested, please complete the Contact Us! form or contact the Church Office directly.
Worship with Children
Children are always welcome. Truly. Squirmers, gigglers, and wanderers , too. At First Church, we are glad they are with you — regardless of their worshipping “style.” See more under More for Families with Children.
