Music Ministry

Music at First Church is the heart of our Christian worship.  During “normal” times, majestic organ preludes, stirring hymns, choirs, and instrumentalists all contribute to our worship service as we glorify the Lord.  We encourage you to  come listen, sing, or share your own musical gift.  We are pleased to announce that the Chapel Chimers are resuming rehearsals in November after an 8 month hiatus.   The Chancel Choir has been put on hold due to extra precautions during the current upswing of Corona Virus cases in our area. We look forward to regrouping as soon as safely possible.

PROTOCOL & PRECAUTIONS DURING THE CONTINUING 2020 PANDEMIC. The safety of our members and musicians is a top priority at First Church. In order to safely navigate and reduce the risk of illness transmission, temperature checks and social distancing will be mandatory at all rehearsals. Masks will be required of both singers and non-singers. Rehearsals for all group activities will be shorter in length until the pandemic subsides. We look forward to sharing music again with you in both a spiritual and safe environment.

Instrumental & Vocal Soloists and Ensembles
These musicians provide anthems for worship and additional seasonal experiences, with the intent of communicating God’s word and spirit through music. Individual and small ensemble participation is highly encouraged during this pandemic, as smaller groups lower the risk of illness transmission.

The First Church Flute Choir plays several times a year in worship.

We encourage and welcome new members, and strive to create musical experiences that inspire both participant and listener. We seek to provide music and formats that elucidate God’s word, and let the Spirit soar.
